Weekend Reads #10

So I just had a good old scroll back through my blog and realised I haven’t posted a weekend reads since February. February. That’s over 6 months ago. Jesus Christ 2016 is going quickly! But since I’m off work this weekend and I’m expecting to have a pretty relaxing time, I thought I might share with you a few of the books I could possibly be reading over the next few days. But who knows, I could just end up binge-watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix like I have been all week!! 1. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I am only a short way into this one but I am really keen to continue on reading now that I’ve finally picked it up. If you’ve been living under a rock this is a psychological thriller about a woman who goes missing and the repercussions that has on her husband. I’ve seen the movie so I’m a bit spoiled, but I’m excited none the less! 2. Girl Meets Boy by Ali Smith. I have been reading this book for a few weeks now …

Weekend Reads #9

Hello friends! How has your week been? Last weekend was a long weekend so I had from Friday-Tuesday off work and finally got a chance to hang out with some of my friends! However I’m back at it now and the night shifts are already beginning to take their toll. So this weekends plan is to relax. I want to sit down with a good book and a cup of tea and just relax. I am currently going through a bit of a tough time with the books I’m reading. My attention span is relatively shit at the moment so I’m kind of touch-and-go with most of my current reads. But without further ado, these are the books I am planning on reading this weekend! 1. A Darker Shade of Magic by V E Schwab. I started this book about a week ago and only made it to the third chapter, but my oh my am I already intrigued. I love Victoria’s writing style and the plot for this one sounds incredibly interesting – so I’d love to get …

Currently Reading [1]

This week I made the unfortunate mistake of being a lazy shit so I didn’t get around to posting a weekend reads! I schedule a lot of posts on my blog due to working overnights 4+ nights a week and usually spending the other ones out or asleep, so the posts that have to be up to date are usually hit or miss to whether or not they actually happen. Anyway, enough rambling. Because I missed posting a weekend reads on Friday afternoon, I decided I would post a currently reading today instead! Let’s go! The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith (J. K. Rowling) Instead of picking up A Dance with Dragons (the fifth Game of Thrones book) when I was camping, I picked up The Silkworm! I read the first book in this series when I was camping two years ago and figured it would be an easy book to read while I was away! Unfortunately I didn’t get far into this one and I’m not currently deep into the mystery, but I’m definitely enjoying this one immensely and I love …

Weekend Reads #8

Welcome back! I have neglected ‘weekend reads’ posts on my blog in the past four or five months, mainly due to the fact that I have already told Goodreads what I’m reading so what’s the point in writing an update – right? But in all honesty, these are one of my favourite posts to write. I know I have only done 7 in the past, but I was just looking back over them and I can so vividly remember what I was doing when I was writing them. It’s a weird feeling. It also makes me get the Pokemon theme song stuck in my head (apparently I was watching a lot of Pokemon in 2015)! This weekend is actually pretty exciting for me! It’s the Australia Day long weekend here in Aus, and to celebrate my family and I are going camping until Tuesday. So with no internet connection and no power for 4 days, making sure I have a decent book is pretty important! At our family camping trip last January I managed to read …

Weekend Reads and TV #7

Hello! I feel like I haven’t written a blog post in a LONG time now and that’s because (shameless self-promotion) I started a booktube channel! I’d really appreciate it if you went over and gave a few videos a watch! I really don’t want to stop blogging though, so I’m here today to do a Weekend Reads and TV! I have started working overnights at work this week, so I’m not too sure what my sleeping is going to be like and when I’m going to be alert enough to read. But I thought I’d do this anyway as a way to motivate myself! The first book I want to continue (and hopefully finish) this weekend is Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas! I finally have my hands on this beautiful book, however because of work I haven’t managed to read quite as much of it as I would have liked. So I really want to continue this book this weekend! Another book I would like to pick up if I’m not in the mood for Queen of …

Weekend Reads #6

This weekend I am actually travelling interstate for a holiday! I was originally going to see 5 Seconds of Summer play in Brisbane, Australia, however I’ve since sold my concert ticket and now I’m just taking myself on a little trip and going to see some family friends. While there are quite a few different shops and vegan restaurants I want to pop to while I am there, I also want to use the the trip as an excuse to just relax and get a bunch of reading done! So I thought it was appropriate to let you know what I was planning on reading! Cress by Marissa Meyer. I am currently reading the third book in the Lunar Chronicles which I have been putting off since it was published in February 2014. I think my main reason for putting this book off for so long was that I had to wait an entirety for the fourth and final book, however now that the release date for Winter is drawing closer, I saw it as a perfect opportunity to pick this …

Weekend Reads #5

This weekend I want to focus on reading books that I have out from the library and books I’ve been sent to review! I really failed with the read-a-thon #TBRTakedown that happened this week (1st-7th) so I really want to try and redeem myself by completing at least one more challenge from that read-a-thon! 1. The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey – Unfortunately I have heard terrible things about this book. Because of these reviews I’ve been putting off reading this one since it was published last year but I finally want to pick it up this weekend and make a decision for myself! 2. Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys – I checked this book out of the library this past week after hearing both brilliant and mixed reviews about it on goodreads. Set in Southern America in the 1950s, I’m really hoping that I enjoy this book as Ruta Sepetys other book (Between Shades of Grey) was kind of a flop with me. 3. Comics – I don’t know which ones I …
