A little while ago I had this big idea that I would do a blogpost all about my Goodreads currently reading shelf. I was getting into a bit of a slump and had started around 8-10 books so my shelf was literally overflowing so I thought it would be interesting in talking about that. However I have since cleared off that shelf and made sure I only keep books I am actively reading on that page, so that blog idea kind of went out the window.
But I thought I should probably share with you what I’m reading anyway! I have (kind of) jumped on board the YA train again recently. I don’t feel like I’ve read a young-adult novel in forever but I’m currently reading two YA books so – something’s changed!
Breathing Under Water by Sophie Hardcastle
I read Sophie’s memoir Running Like China a few months ago (my review!) and absolutely fell in love with her writing so when I saw her new release YA in Target a couple of weeks ago I had to pick it up. I started reading this about a week ago now, and while I’m only a short way into it, it is enjoyable so far. I love Sophie’s writing, and I love that this novel is set in Australia, however something about it just seems a bit… young for me? I’m not sure, it might just be because I haven’t read a YA novel in quite a bit.
Winter by Marissa Meyer
I FINALLY PICKED IT UP! I pre-ordered the fourth book in the Lunar Chronicles when it was released at the end of 2015 but have managed to avoid picking it up until now. I have also avoided spoilers!!! So please don’t spoil me! I haven’t wanted this series to end so I’ve definitely been putting this off, but now that I’ve started reading it I can’t believe I waited so long. I love these characters, and I love this book so far, so I cannot wait to get to the conclusion of this.
I’ll be sure to let you guys know when I finish these! Let me know if you’ve read them below ❁
