Top Ten Books on my TBR for Winter 2015

This is a weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish. You can find out more info here!

I realise that the topic for this week is ‘summer’ however as I’m living in Australia, it’s currently winter here! So these are the books I plan on reading this Winter. Knowing me, it’s unlikely I will actually read all of these, but these are the books I am planning on choosing between!

1. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. I can’t believe I haven’t read this yet. I think my main reason for putting this off so far is because I know I’m going to enjoy it so much that I don’t want to read worse books afterwards. So I’ve been trying to read everything else I’m less excited for first. If that makes sense.

2. A Dance with Dragons by George R. R. Martin. I am currently reading this book, however I would love to have it over by the time this season comes to an end.

3. Vicious by V. E. Schwab. This has been on my TBR for a year now, and I’ve owned it since Easter. So I have no excuse for not picking this up yet.

4. The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton. I started this book in October last year and put it down for some reason. The writing is absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to pick this up soon.

5. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. My cousin and I are buddy reading this one, and her school holidays begin in July and I feel like that will be the perfect time to finally get around to this.

6. The Dream Thieves and Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater. I’m so excited to finally catch up on this series! I read The Raven Boys around a month ago and immediately picked up the next two books, however for some unknown reason I never read them straight away like I was expecting to.

7. The Messenger by Marcus Zusak. It is ridiculous that I haven’t read this yet. I have no excuses. But I want to read it asap.

8. Cress by Marissa Meyer. This was one of my most anticipated reads for 2014 and the fact that I haven’t picked it up yet makes me question my sanity.

9. The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. I have heard nothing but absolutely outstanding things about this book. From people online, to the staff in my local bookstore, no one has told me one negative thing about this book so I’ve gone ahead and ordered the first two books in the series! I can’t wait for it to arrive in the post so I can read it.

10. The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer. Although this has only been added to my TBR in the past few months, I am very excited to read this book.

What books are you planning on read this Summer/Winter? X

  1. Ready Player One! I just bought that and loaned it to my bro. I hope to get to it soon…maybe in the fall. Oh I’d love to visit Australia in June to have winter in summer (that’s how I would this of it the entire time I’m there).

    • I am so excited to read Ready Player One! Everyone raves about it and I really want to understand the hype! Also, I really want to visit the northern hemisphere and experience a white Christmas!! Would be incredible!

      • We could almost switch places. Many people love a white Christmas. I prefer staying inside n looking at the snow. I’m scared of the cold.
