Friday Finds – 29th May 2015

Friday Finds is a weekly feature hosted by Should Be Reading where you showcase the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library – whereever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased)

Like I mentioned last week, I’m very tentatively adding books to my TBR this year because I truly want to read what I already own/am anticipating. So this week I am focusing on comics! I am an avid comic reader, but this week in particular I have got the urge to read a bunch of female DC characters so here’s a few that I’ve added to my TBR. I won’t lie, I have heard of a few of these before, however it’s in the past week that I’ve made the decision to actually read them – and soon!

1. The Batman Adventures: Mad Love – From what I’ve heard this is pretty much a Harley Quinn origin story and I am SO down for that.

2. Spider-Gwen Volume 1 – Alternate universe where Gwen Stacy was bitten by the radioactive spider instead of Peter? Yes please!

3. Robin: Year One – I read Batgirl: Year One recently and absolutely fell in love with the artwork! I am always a sucker for a great origin story, so I am going to definitely give this a shot soon!

4. Gotham Girls – This is set in the DCAU (DC Animated Universe) and comes after the animated series Gotham Girls. And while I haven’t seen the show (I will be watching soon! I just didn’t know it existed!) I had a flip through this and the art blew me away and I need to read it immediately *grabby hands*!
