Top Ten Character’s You’d Like to Check In With

This is a weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish. You can find out more info here!

After completing this list, I’m realising that almost (well, all) of these characters come from teen oriented books! This was not on purpose, however I guess I have more nostalgia at the moment towards these books than I do, say, psychological thrillers. Which I suppose makes sense – I’m not too interested to see how dead people and criminals have turned out!

{There may be some spoilers, since asking about things that have happened.}

1. Thomas from The Maze Runner – I’d check in with Thomas for a few reasons. I want to know how everyone is, and how they are liking Paradise. But the main reason I would check in with Thomas, opposed to any of the other characters, is that I truly want to know how he deals with what happened to Newt. Because I’m not coping at all.

2. Absolutely anyone from the 172 Hours on the Moon Universe – I honestly just want to know what the heck is happening. Is there anyone I can even ask? Does anyone exist?!

3. Aristotle and Dante from Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe – I want to know what their future brought. Are they happy? Are they together? What did they accomplish?

4. Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter Series – I feel like Luna would be the person to go to if you wanted to hear an intricate and obscure story of where everyone else ended up. Luna would be the person to tell you the small details that other people would leave out of a story. Also, I just really want to see how she’s going, my chum. ❤

5. Violet Markey from All the Bright Places – Although sometimes frustrating, I adored reading from Violet’s perspective and getting a look into her mind and how she saw the future panning out. The reason I would love to check in with her is that she was always confused about her ‘destiny’, and I’d honestly really love to find out what she ended up doing after high school.

6. Cath Avery from Fangirl – Give me everything Cath. She is one of the few characters I have truly related to in a YA novel, and I feel like getting a glimpse into her future would almost assure me that things will work out in mine. That is, if everything is working out in her future. Is everything working out in your future, Cath?!

7. Simon from The Mortal Instruments Series – Can someone please just write this and assure me that him and Clary are best friends again. Please.

8. Eleanor and Park from Eleanor and Park – I need to know what those three words were. I need to see Eleanor and Park are happily living together. I need assurance that Eleanor and Park grow old together. I need to know that they love each other. I need to stop saying Eleanor and Park

9. Q from Paper Towns – Did him and Margo ever meet again? I need to know. It’s for science.

10. Anna from Anna and the French Kiss – Much like Luna, I feel like Anna would be the person to go to in order to see how everyone else is doing. I honestly just want to know if everyone is still in contact, or was it just adolescent friendships that fell apart rather quickly. Because I’m leaning towards the latter (not that I want to be).

Are there any characters you would like to check in with? Let me know, because I’ve surely forgotten someone!
